As we commemorate Women’s Day – 2024, we are still confronted by climate emergency, pollution, and loss of biodiversity – the triple planetary crisis, that has undeniably impacted human rights and the conditions sustaining life on the planet earth. The crisis also intensifies the already existing inequalities on the vulnerable population, more especially women who are the caregivers and custodians of food in most cultures. Action is needed to alleviate hunger, poverty and improve community household food security.
