Florence Ochieng

Florence is a retired government civil servant. She worked with Ministry of Public Service and with the then Uganda Commercial Bank. She is now a subsistence farmer growing mostly food crops in varieties. Florence brings to CEGGI her experience with fellow communities on managing a mixed farming system of improved farming varieties, the indigenous crops, live stock farming and the entire food value chain from production to the market, which has improved community livelihoods.
Mrs Asha Fambe
Board Member
Asha represents communities on the CEGGI Board. She is a small-scale farmer and a member of Tugar’re Ebyobuhangwa Women’s Group based in Kabaale – Buseruka in Hoima district – Western Uganda. The objective of the women farmers group is to revive and multiply the lost indigenous seeds. They practice agroecology farming system which gives them the leverage to control and own their seeds and reduce dependency on unreliable external seeds.
Patience Katooko (Staff)
Head of Programs
As a graduate of Bachelors of Arts, Patience started off working with Agency for Environment and Wetlands, an NGO that promotes sustainable use and management of wetlands promoting alternative energy solutions and tree growing to improve ecosystem cover. She has trained in graphics and web design which has been a great resource for CEGGI.
Ms Loyce Kamusiime (Staff)
Water and Sanitation officer
Loyce is a graduate of public health and psychology. She has worked in Hoima government hospital as counselor, offering psychosocial support to trauma victims of gender based violence. She brings to CEGGI the experience of building community livelihoods among people affected by extractive industry
Alfred Waira (Staff)
Ecosystems and Climate Change Officer
Alfred Waira is a graduate of social sciences. He has experience working with Environmental NGOs that promote conservation as core objectives. In his own words: “I have a passion working with vulnerable communities. I have worked with water stressed communities, listening to them as they relate their experiences in accessing water for home use, the challenges of sanitation, women doubling their caregiving with trekking the landscape in search for water and firewood while risking their security to predators. These experiences give me the vigor to work with such communities to find solutions that work to improve their livelihoods”.
Mr. Grace Kansiime (Staff)
Finance and Administration Manager
Has over 15 years of experience working with a number of institutions with good knowledge in NGO work. He is articulate in financial management, budget analysis, reporting, compliance and data collection. He has worked with a number of organizations including NSV, Excel Hot Consult, Global Fund, KAMTEK Investments Ltd among others.
Innocent Owor Zziwa (Staff)
Information and Systems Administrator
He is a CISCO Certified networking consultant from the Cisco Networking Academy - Makerere University College of Computing and Information Sciences. He has experience in computer installation, configuration, troubleshooting, computer repair and maintenance. Innocent also holds a Diploma in Office procedures and Business studies from the City and Guilds of London Institute.
Esther Joy Naizuli (Staff)
Office Administrator
Esther studied Fashion and Designed at University and also trained in office management. She has been employed in the fashion industry at a personal level, worked as Office Administrator at YWCA, and is an online English Tutor. She has the experience in managing and working with people of diverse backgrounds.
